Cyrene Apartments:
Market Rate Housing on the Seattle Waterfront
Anticipating the remarkable remaking of Seattle’s waterfront with the demolition of the Alaskan Way Viaduct and creation of a new landscaped boulevard, Cyrene was the first new high-rise to be developed along the harbor. The 17-story tower is conceived as a prism of glass grounded by a brick clad podium. The window wall patterning of the facades are inspired by and evoke the wispy plumes of the neighboring steam plant.
